Lovely stuff, Steve. The seagull poo and maid's hairy legs are great touches! Works better without the caption (as seen in the CCGB comp) as I'm sure you know, as you posted this version.
Thanks, Royston. Yes, I agree, it works better without the caption (in the original version, both were thinking to themselves, "Wow! I didn't think it would actually work!"), as is often the case in these competitions, where we're all tied to a given caption. In fact, Noel Ford (whose caption it was this week) makes the observation himself this week, that nearly half of the entries would have worked perfectly well (or even better) without the caption, and his was one of those. I think that's the nature of the beast though - the caption probably acts more as a brief or an inspiration, and often good interpretations emerge, which can then be improved by either tweaking, changing, or even removing the caption. I know that quite a number have even gone on to be sold this way, which is great.
