Fancy a blog?

It's that awkward first time for me - please be gentle!

I've never had a blog before, and now that it's here, I'm still not quite sure what I'm going to do with it. Post pictures for sure, and hopefully they will be worthy of feedback and comment (all welcomed). It would be nice to have access to all the cartoonery I've produced in the 27 years I've been drawing professionally, but sadly, only the recent years have seen me able to use technology in order to save my work digitally, and so much of the early stuff was posted off in cardboard tubes never to return to me. Such were the good old bad old days.

But I've still got a load of works to pick from, and, of course, I'm not quite finished producing the stuff yet. So hopefully I won't run out for a while. And I also hope you'll indulge me if I post the occasional rambling thoughts, reminiscences and notices. Well, if you can't get these things out on your own blog, what's the point of them?

But mostly it'll be my scribblings, I think. And despite my earlier statement, although I have no access to so much of the original artwork from those early years, I have managed to find some evidence of their existence, and what better way to kick off this new and exciting venture for me than to post the very first piece of cartoon artwork I was ever commissioned to draw, way back in July, 1983, at the tender age of 24. It was the cover of a 'Beano Comic Library' for D.C. Thomson & Co. Ltd. (copyright belongs to them), featuring Dennis the Menace's pet dog, Gnasher...
